New Year New Goals New Vision

As 2011 comes to an end I want to thank God for all the blessings throughout this year. It has been a rough year emotionally but a great year spiritually. Greater things are yet to come for 2012.

Service

I want to thank God for the great men He has put before me and in my life. Last night at Small group (Bible study) we talked about serving. Mark 10:35-45 we find the son's of Zebedee coming to Jesus asking Him if one may sit to His right the other to His left. In verse 38 we see Jesus telling them they don't know what they're asking for. If we keep reading find Jesus speaking about service. Why service? I believe that Christ spoke of this because being a servant requires humbleness. When your told to take out the trash from church that requires humbleness. When your serving in the worship team that requires passion for the people (since being in the worship team is a front-line ministry). So let's serve today, Jesus Himself came to serve and not to be served, serve with a open heart with love towards people.

The discipline of seeking guidance

The discipline of seeking guidance goes to the heart of walking with God. Guidance involves us hearing God's voice and obeying Him. It is not only seeking His will in a specific matter, but it is a constant way of life.                                                                                                                                                                               God provides guidance to His people in two ways. One is individual guidance, where God gives each of His children divine instruction through Scripture, reason, circumstances, and through prompting of the Spirit in the individual's heart. In corporate guidance, God guides groups of people who gather in fellowship to seek the will of God. Both aspects are important to submit to as we seek to live in response to the voice of God.
